Senator Gbemisola Ruqayyah Saraki renews her APC membership, visits family of late Ilorin Chief Imam

Senator Gbemisola Ruqayyah Saraki, former Minister of State for Transportation and former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, yesterday renewed her All Progressives Congress (APC) membership by participating in the ongoing party registration and revalidation exercise in Ilorin.

The Senator registered at her Ajikobi Central Ward in Ilorin West Local Government Area, Kwara State capital. Addressing gathered party members and supporters, she emphasized the critical importance of the exercise for strengthening the party’s foundation.

“I urge all existing members, as well as prospective members, to ensure they participate in this registration before the deadline. Active and documented membership is the bedrock of our party’s strength and our collective progress,” Senator Saraki stated.

Following the registration, Senator Saraki paid a solemn condolence visit to the family of the late Chief Imam of Ilorin, His Eminence, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Saliu, OON. She expressed her deep sympathies and commiserated with them over the passing of the revered religious and community leader.

Senator Saraki described the late Chief Imam as a pillar of wisdom, peace, and unity. “Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Saliu was more than a religious leader; he was a moral compass and a unifying figure whose teachings transcended boundaries. His legacy of promoting harmony and spiritual growth has left an indelible mark on the Ilorin Emirate and the entire Muslim community. His guidance will be profoundly missed,” she said.

The Senator also extended her formal condolences to the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR. She prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late cleric, grant him Aljannah Firdaus, and grant his family, the Ilorin community, Kwara State, and the Muslim Ummah the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
