RUWASSA organises one-day workshop on data acquisition

A one-day training workshop has been organised by the Kwara State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA) for enumerators involved in the Water Supply, Sanitation, and Hygiene Baseline Survey (WASH) in data acquisition.

The workshop, which is in collaboration with the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), an international donor agency that promotes the rights and well-being of every child in the country, was held at Rotana Event Hall, Rotana Hotel, Fate Road, Ilorin

The state commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Usman Yunusa Lade, while speaking at the event, said the basis for organising the training is a demonstration of the state government’s commitment to the well-being of the people in the state.

Declaring the workshop open, Lade urged the participants to pay adequate attention to the resource persons to assimilate the required skills necessary for data processing and analysis.

Earlier in his remarks, the General Manager of RUWASSA, Mr Olorunfemi Oladipo, while disclosing that the state government had paid its counterpart funding, described the state government’s action as a good gesture that has brought the establishment back to its responsibilities in the last 20 years.

Oladipo, while thanking the state government and UNICEF for creating the enabling environment for the agency to organise the training that helps to facilitate the partnership for the expansion of the Water Supply, Sanitation, and Hygiene (P-WASH) Programme in the state, explained that the participants were drawn from the various communities that comprise the 16 local government areas of the state.
