REVEALED: Details of Lionel Messi contract with Inter Miami is out
One of the owners of the Inter Miami, Jorge Mas has explained how Messi’s transfer came about and the details in her contract.
Mas noted that the deal to bring Messi down to MLS dated back many years ago, noting the efforts started back in 2019.
“In 2019, we started thinking about how we could bring him in. I spent three years on it, a year and a half very intensely,”
He stated that the present of the seven time Ballon’ D’ Or winner can turn the league around.
“Messi can turn MLS into one of the two or three biggest leagues in the world.I think he comes with the desire to leave his mark, and he will be able to do so beyond football.
In terms of detail, Mas told El Pais that Messi will have a stake in the club when he retires and his contract will be “between 50 and 60 million dollars per year”.
Messi is expected to play his first game for Inter Miami on July 21 when the Major League Soccer side hosts Mexico’s Cruz Azul in their Leagues Cup opener
