Report: KWSG Integrated Modern Public Toilets to be Delivered Soon

The prototype integrated modern public toilets being built in three different locations by the Abdulrazaq’s administration in the Ilorin metropolis is near completion, one of our reporters who visited two (2) of the sites at Offa garage and Sawmill road has confirmed to us that work is ongoing, and all that’s remaining is finishing touches.

The integrated modern public toilets which is part of the Abdulrazaq’s government efforts to tackle open defecation and score the state high on compliance to the SDG goals is being constructed by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in collaboration with the Kwara Youth Center (KYC) professionals.

When our reporter contacted the convener of Kwara Youth Center, Kayode Oyin Zubair, he has this to say: “Yes, the integrated modern public toilets would be delivered in no time, work is ongoing on a daily basis, we’re presently putting final touches on the project as you can see for yourself.

He added: “The government of Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is committed to ending not just open defecation in the state, but also all actions that would contribute to making the state unhealthy for living.

He continued: He is an ardent believer in the SDG goals, and this he has shown by committing funds into the construction of integrated toilets in the metropolis, and constituting an environmental taskforce to rid the metropolis of dirts.

“We at the Kwara Youth Center (KYC) are proud that the expertise of our members who are professionals in various fields have been utilized by the Ministry of environment and forestry, this is in fulfillment of the Governor’s pledge that his government is for youths and would be driven by them, we do appreciate him for walking his talk.”

He concluded by adding that the Kwara State government will celebrate the World Toilet day on the 19th day of November in grand style. “The state government’s policy on clean and safe environment will receive a boost when these facilities will be commissioned. The theme for World Toilet Day 2019 is “Leaving No One Behind”, he said.
