Rep. Shagaya Kicks Off Table Tennis Tournament, Promotes Youth Empowerment in Ilorin West/Asa
In an effort to foster youth development and empowerment, Hon. Muktar Tolani Shagaya recently announced the commencement of a Table Tennis Competition, slated to be held in celebration of his first year in office as a federal lawmaker representing the Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency.
Hon Shagaya in his statement issued in Ilorin highlighted the significant role that sports can play in boosting economic growth and fostering social development within the community. The competition, he stated, aims to nurture young talents from the grassroots level while encouraging engagement in productive and meaningful activities, thereby curbing social ills and vices.
He commended Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his commitment to developing sports infrastructure in Kwara State and called upon more stakeholders to join in the efforts of promoting sports for the benefit of society.
Speaking to the journalist, the planning committee chairman, Mallam Abdulmajeed Abdulwahab (Aburo Gomina), “It is indeed an auspicious occasion as Hon. Muktar Tolani Shagaya celebrates his one year in office as the Federal Representative of Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency. This milestone serves as a testament to his dedication and hard work, as well as an opportunity for him to give back to the community that has supported him throughout his journey.
The initiation of this Table Tennis Competition marks a significant step towards fulfilling his promise of serving and empowering the youth, whom he has always seen as the bedrock of a thriving society”, he said.
