Ramadan: Oyabambi encourages charity, faith amid challenges in Kwara
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and US-based philanthropist, Otunba Adetunji Oyabambi, has called on Muslims in Kwara State to embrace charity, faith and unity as they observe the holy month of Ramadan amid prevailing social and security challenges.
In his Ramadan message, Oyabambi described the sacred period as a time for spiritual renewal, compassion and deeper commitment to supporting one another, especially the vulnerable.
He urged residents to use the season to extend acts of kindness to those in need, noting that the values of generosity and empathy remain central to the essence of Ramadan.
“Ramadan teaches us sacrifice, patience and care for humanity. In moments of difficulty, these values become even more important in sustaining hope within our communities,” he said.
Oyabambi encouraged Muslims to strengthen their faith and intensify prayers for peace, stability and progress in Kwara State and Nigeria.
He also appealed to community leaders and well-meaning individuals to prioritise charity during the fasting period, stressing that collective support for the less privileged can ease hardship and foster unity.
While acknowledging the challenges confronting many families, the PDP chieftain expressed optimism that shared compassion and faith would help build stronger and more resilient communities.
He prayed for a peaceful and spiritually fulfilling Ramadan for Muslims across the state, while expressing hope for improved security and prosperity in Kwara and beyond.
