Ramadan competition: 16 Arabic schools set for The Informant247’s maiden inter-madrasa quiz in Kwara

No fewer than 16 Arabic and Islamic schools will compete for honours at the maiden edition of the Inter-Madrasa Quiz Competition organised by The Informant247.

Each participating madrasa will present four representatives aged between 4 and 12 years, in a contest designed to test the pupils’ knowledge of Qur’an recitation, memorisation, Hadith, Islamic studies, and basic Arabic learning.

The quiz competition is scheduled to begin from Tuesday, March 10, corresponding to the 21st day of Ramadan, and will run till the last day of the sacred month.

The participating schools will compete through different rounds of elimination, with outstanding madrasa teams progressing to the next stages until finalists emerge to battle for the top honours.

Speaking ahead of the contest, the CEO and Publisher of The Informant247, Saliu Shola Taofeek, stated that the initiative is aimed at promoting Islamic and Arabic education among young learners, while also encouraging healthy intellectual competition among madrasa pupils.

He noted that the programme will also offer an opportunity for the participating students to showcase their intellectual ability, adding that the competition will be aired live across all social media handles of The Informant247 TV to enable parents, teachers, and the wider Muslim community follow the contest.

“This initiative represents part of our efforts to promote excellence in Arabic and Islamic education,” the media executive said, adding that winners at the competition will receive prizes and recognition.

The quiz competition will be anchored by popular Islamic scholar, Dr. Ibrahim Eleke Kuntu, who is also the host of the popular As-Shurah show on Informant247 TV.
