Ramadan 1446: Look out for new moon – Sultan of Sokoto tells Muslims

In preparation for the forthcoming Ramadan 1446, the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji Saad Abubakar III, has asked the Muslim ummah to look out for the new moon from Friday, 28th February 2025, signifying the start of the fasting period.

Sultan, in a letter signed by Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu, the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Sultanate Council, Sokoto, urged that “if the new moon is sighted, please inform His Eminence, through the following numbers.”
