Professor Aremu to deliver keynote address at Africa Renaissance Conference Feb. 24
The Executive Director of Research Enterprise Systems (RES), Professor Fatai Aremu, will deliver a keynote address at the Africa Unity for Renaissance Conference (AURC) scheduled for 24 February 2026 in Pretoria, South Africa.
The invitation was extended by the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC), the organiser of the conference.
The event is expected to bring together scholars, policymakers, heads of think tanks, and innovation stakeholders from across Africa and other regions.
The 2026 conference is themed “Harnessing Digital Technology and Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development in Africa.”
According to the HSRC, the theme focuses on the role of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in promoting economic growth, improving governance, and addressing development challenges on the continent.
Professor Aremu is expected to speak on issues relating to policy, infrastructure, ethical considerations, and the application of digital technology and artificial intelligence in Africa’s development efforts.
RES, in a statement obtained by The Informant247, said Professor Aremu’s participation aligns with its ongoing work in research, innovation, and policy engagement at national, regional, and continental levels, particularly in areas related to digital transformation and emerging technologies.
