Prof Abubakar Sulaiman denies political party affiliation, says NILDS DG role remain impartial

In response to circulating rumors about the political affiliation of Director General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman, his aide, Faruq Atofarati has clarified that NILDS’ DG maintains a strictly non-partisan stance.

Professor Sulaiman, who serves as the Director-General of NILDS, has been wrongly linked to a specific political party, according to these reports.

The statement by Professor Sulyman’s Personal Assistant emphasized that in his current role must maintain a non-partisan stance to ensure NILDS remains an impartial and objective institution focused on enhancing legislative practices and promoting democratic governance in Nigeria.

“Any content or statements suggesting otherwise do not reflect the truth of his professional and ethical commitments,” the statement read.

Farouq clarified that Professor Sulaiman’s position precludes him from belonging to any political party, stressing his dedication to upholding these principles.
