Private schools write AbdulRazaq, beg for palliatives
The Private School Association in Kwara State – NAPPS has appealed to the Kwara State Governor, Mall AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to support private institutions in the state with palliatives.
In a letter signed by the state’s president, Dr. Rahaman Adetunji Lateef and confirmed to THE INFORMANT247, he said most of the schools couldn’t pay their staff because of the total lockdown in the state.
He said life has become miserable for their staff — who have not been receiving salaries — because of the effect of the coronavirus break.
He added that they had submitted list of schools under the association to the state commissioner for education but nothing positive come out of it.
He said, “We’re employers of labour and partners in progress to the government, any little gifts to the teaming school owners and their staff at this material time shall go a long way in alleviating our pains and it will enhance our resolve to pay tax and support the government in all its programs.
“Unlike our counterparts in public schools who gets paid monthly with taxpayers money whether they work or not, we are private sector who eats only through our daily sweats.”
He thereafter pleaded with the state government to support them with relief items.
