Police sergeant found dead in Delta forest days after being kidnapped

The lifeless body of a Police Sergeant, identified as Sgt. Ifeanyi aka Lion, who was allegedly kidnapped on Thursday has been found at a forest in Ughelli North Local Government area of Delta State.

The Informant247 gathered the victim, who was attached to the Eagle Net squad, was reportedly kidnapped along Aroh Road in Ughelli metropolis, while returning from work.

Confirming the development on Saturday, the PPRO said: “manhunt for the assailants is on. The DPO has mandated a tactical team and we are on their trail.”

According to a senior security source from the Delta State Police Command, “his (the deceased) phone number was tracked to one bush at Evwreni, where he was found dead. He was shot on his neck, his hands were tied, his corpse was taken to the Central Hospital morgue, Friday night”.
