Police rescue 75-yr-old man after spending 2 months with kidnappers’ in Zamfara

The Police Command in Zamfara State has rescued Alhaji Muhammad Sheshi, 75, from the captivity of kidnappers in Zamfara State.

75-year-old man, a native of Enagi village in Edati Local Government Area of Niger State from kidnappers in Zamfara State.

The spokesperson of the police command, SP Mohammed Shehu, has confirmed the incident in a signed statement released to newsmen in Gusau, the capital of the state.

Shehu said the 75-year-old man was rescued by men of the police command following an intelligence information about the kidnap of the victim.

The statement said: “In the course of debriefing, the victim informed the police that he was abducted in early October, 2022 by a large number of armed bandits who blocked Birnin Gwari – Kaduna Road and took many into the bush somewhere in Dansadau axis of Zamfara State.”

The image maker of the police command said the victim has been hospitalized at the police clinic centre and thereafter reconnected with his family.

The spokesman stated that Kolo Yusuf, the Commissioner of Police has felicitated with the old man for the freedom.

The CP has given an assurance of safety of loves and property to the people of the state.

According to him: “These bandits live and eat with community members, the villagers know them very well and the community members could assist the security agencies to do their work perfectly.

“Security operatives are not ghosts neither do they have any magic wand but depend on intelligence reports from the locals to confront the bandits in their enclaves.”
