Police rescue 6 women, 1-yr-old child from kidnappers den in Zamfara

Zamfara State Police Command have secured the release of six women and one year-old child from kidnappers den.

The spokesperson of the police command in the state, SP Muhammad Shehu, confirmed the incident on Sunday in Gusau, the capital of the State.

Shehu said the evil doers kidnapped the victims at Kadamutsa village in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State on November 24.

He said the operatives of the police secured the freedom of 7 of the victims on Zurmi-Jibia expressway on Saturday, November 26.

Shehu also revealed that the success of the rescue mission was assisted by the intelligence information which got to the police beforehand and the contribution of the local vigilance groups.

“Police operatives mobilised to the area where a search-and-rescue operation was conducted along Zurmi-Jibiya federal highway leading to the unconditional rescue of all the victims unhurt.

“The rescued victims were taken to hospital for medical checks, debriefed by the police and returned to their families,’’ Shehu stated.

He further said that the Commissioner of Police, Mr Kolo Yusuf has given kudos to the officers of the police force and vigilantes for carrying out a successful rescue mission.

The CP also felicitated with the victims for the freedom, and reaffirmed the commitment of the police to continue to make the State unsafe for criminal agents.
