Police bust kidnappers’ den, rescue victim in Rivers
Three suspected kidnappers were arrested by the operatives of Rivers state police command after its operatives busted a criminal hideout in Obelle community, Emuoha local government area of the state.
The police said that the operatives rescued a 37-year-old man, Martin Nze from the kidnappers’ den and recovered his car
Grace Iringe-koko, spokesperson, Rivers State Police Command, disclosed this to newsmen in a statement issued on Wednesday.
SP Iringe-Koko, explained that the command received credible report on the hideout which led to a raid and recoveries, including one single Barrel Dane gun.
The statement read, “On Tuesday 10th January 2023 at about 0800hrs, based on credible intelligence that on Monday 9th January 2023 at about 2030hrs, there were strange movements at Obelle Community in Emohua LGA of Rivers State.
“The Rmumji Police Division mobilized Patrol Teams and raided the uncompleted building that was being used as a criminal hideout.
“Martin Nze (m), 37 of Awka, Anambra State, was rescued, and his car, a Toyota Corolla with the registration number GG 138 FY, was recovered and taken to the station.
“Three of the abductors; Vincent Sunday (m), 25 from Rumuji, Ekene Micheal (m), 29 from Eliozu, and Mohammed Oluwasegun (m), 20 from Ondo State were arrested.
“One Single Barrel Dane Gun was recovered from them. They will be charged in court once ongoing investigations are completed.”
However, the PPRO reaffirmed police commitment to reduce criminal activities in all forms to the barest minimum.
