PeacePro collaborates with IEP to launch africa peace insight (API)
Nigeria’s Foundation for Peace Professionals, commonly known as PeacePro, has forged a strategic partnership with the Australia-based Institute of Economics and Peace (IEP) to unveil the much-anticipated Africa Peace Insight report.
Renowned for producing the Global Peace Index (GPI), a widely recognized assessment of nations’ peacefulness worldwide, the IEP is now teaming up with PeacePro, the creator of Nigeria’s own version of the report known as the Nigeria Peace Index (NPI).
In a statement released from Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, Mr. Abdulrazaq Hamzat, the Executive Director of PeacePro, shared insights into this partnership and its goals.
Hamzat underscored that the collaborative effort between PeacePro and IEP aimed to introduce the Africa Peace Insight report, a vital tool for fostering meaningful peacebuilding discussions within the African continent.
He elaborated, “With this partnership, PeacePro is gearing up to unveil the Africa Peace Insight report.”
The Africa Peace Insight (API) report strives to present a comprehensive analysis of the Global Peace Index’s findings, tailored specifically for the African context. The aim is to provide an accessible and simplified perspective on the historical, political, and economic dimensions of peace. This undertaking is designed to elevate African-centered peacebuilding conversations and contribute to policy and agenda-setting discussions, both within institutions like the African Union (AU) and subregional bodies such as the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Arab Maghreb Union (AMU), East African Community (EAC), Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), and Southern African Development Community (SADC).
