PDP’s Shekarau wins Kano Central Senatorial bid under NNPP

The former Governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau has been announced the winner of the 2023 Kano Central Senatorial District election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The incumbent Senator for the Kano Central was nominated on the platform of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) to contest for the senatorial position.

He announced his defection before the election from the NNPP and joined the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Darma revealed that Shekarau gathered 456,787 votes to conquer the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abdulkarim Zaura, who secured 168,677 votes.
