Antonio Rudiger has reportedly agreed on terms to join the Spanish league giants, Real Madrid at the end of the season.
According to the famous football writer, Fabrizio Romano, the German defender will sign a long-term deal with the team while an official announcement is expected to be made by the end of the season.
“Contract not signed yet – but Real Madrid are now closing on Rudiger deal on a free: here we go soon!. It’s gonna be a long-term deal. Final details to be discussed soon, before signing the contract” says Romano.
Earlier on Saturday, Chelsea Manager, Thomas Tuchel confirmed that Rudiger has disclosed his plans to leave the club, adding that everyone is helpless in the issue.
“The situation is that he wants to leave the club. He informed me of this is in a private talk,” Tuchel said. We gave everything – me and the club – but we could not fight anymore because of the actions”.
His departure has also been aided by the sanctions on Chelsea, which stipulated that existing players will not be able to renew their contract after expiration.
“Without the sanctions, we would at least be able to carry on fighting, but our hands are tied. We don’t take it personally. It is his decision.” Said Tuchel.
Rudiger, who fell out of favour during the days of Frank Lampard as Manager has consequently become an integral part of the team since the arrival of Tuchel last year.
