One injured as truck carrying textile materials suffers tyre burst on Lagos-Jebba expressway
At least one person has sustained serious injuries after a truck carrying textile materials suffered a tyre burst and subsequentlylost control at Pasa Village on the Lagos–Jebba Expressway, Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.
According to reports, the incident which occured on Monday, 29th September, 2025 at about 12:13 pm, was responded to by the men of the Kwara State Fire Service.
It was gathered that the truck’s tyre burst caused the driver to lose control.
According to a statement by the spokesperson of the Kwara State Fire Service, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, a full investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances that led to the crash.
“Our crews immediately mobilized to the scene, secured the area and rendered emergency assistance. One life was lost at the scene. One person sustained critical injuries and was conveyed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.”
The statement, however, quoted the Director Kwara State Fire Service Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa reaffirming his commitment to rapid emergency response, while urging motorists to maintain vehicle tyres, observe safe speeds and keep a safe following distance to reduce the risk of similar incidents.
