Obi faces expulsion from Labour Party for alleged anti-party activities, says Chieftain Arabambi

Abayomi Arabambi, the factional national publicity secretary of the Labour Party, has revealed that Peter Obi, the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, could soon be expelled for actions deemed anti-party.

During an appearance on Channels Television’s Morning Brief, Arabambi stated, “We’re convening a NEC meeting where Peter Obi will be expelled. You know he was on suspension before he went ahead to do the anti-party activities. You don’t go and join a political party, and the same time you still put your leg in another political party. He knows it’s unconstitutional to belong to two political parties at the same time.”

Arabambi accused Obi of initiating the current crisis within the Labour Party, stressing that the former governor of Anambra State is unfit to lead any political group. Nevertheless, Obi has insisted that he remains a member of the Labour Party, despite his recent involvement with the coalition-backed African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a previous interview, Obi clarified, “I am not a party member of ADC, but rather a supporter of the movement,” while also reaffirming his ambition to run for president in the upcoming 2023 elections, asserting his qualifications to lead Nigeria.
