NPFL:Kwara United held to a goalless draw by Ikorodu City FC
Kwara United’s slow start into the new NPFL season continues on Sunday as they were held to a goalless draw in their matchday two encounter against league newcomer, Ikorodu City FC.
The Harmony boys lost their opening game to Niger Tornadoes 1-2 at home,leaving them in a poor state on the league table.
While their second game against Elkanemi Warriors was postponed due to the massive flood that hit Maiduguri, the Harmony boys were presented with ample time to prepare for the Sunday clash but they failed to grab their maximum points and struggled to put up a convincing show.

The team were eventually left frustrated as their lackluster performance saw them dropping another important points at home in front of their fans.
The Coach Tunde Sanni-led side took the fight to their visitors earlier in the game but fail to convert some of their chances.
The Harmony Boys were presented with some chances, notably from Emmanuel Ogbole and Shola Abdulraheem who were not clinical in front of goal.
The visitors also relatively grew into the game but appeared more cautious in their set up , even as they didn’t give much fight upfront and had to absolve pressure from their hosts.

Played under the floodlights, Kwara United had the luxury of their teeming fans to turn in an incredible performance but apparently lacked a definite approach in the game.
Despite the introduction of new legs into the game by the home side, the visitors kept their onslaught at bay, held their ground as the match wore on its time and end up picking their first point in the league
The Harmony boys would even survived a scare from the Lagos-based team in the twilight of the game, saving them from what could have been another disastrous evening.
With this result, Kwara United are now 16th on the log with a point from two games as they head into match week four against Bayelsa United.
Also, Ikorodu City FC are 19th on the log with a point from two games and they will face Nasarawa United in their next game at home.
