“No one can lobby me,” Niger Gov Bago dissolves cabinet
Niger Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has officially dissolved his cabinet, instructing the Permanent Secretaries to oversee the ministries until new commissioners are inaugurated. The announcement came during the weekly State Executive Council Meeting on Monday.
Bago emphasized the importance of a smooth transition, warning outgoing commissioners against any attempts to lobby for their positions. “Don’t lobby anyone, no one can lobby me. As you leave here, please hand over to the Permanent Secretaries in your ministries,” he stated.
The governor expressed his intention to form a new cabinet within a week or two, revealing that he has carefully reviewed each commissioner’s performance in their roles.
“While some performed well, others did not perform very well,” Bago added, hinting at significant changes as he moves forward with his administration.
