NNL23: ABS FC begin new season with victory over Mailantarki FC

ABS Ilorin FC on Thursday defeated Mailantarki Care FC of Abuja 1-0 in their Nigeria National League (NNL) opening match which held at their adopted home of Soun Stadium in Ogbomoso.

A 21st minute strike from Bolakale Karatu was all the Saraki Army needed to saw off their tough visitors in an evenly contested game.

The Coach Jerome Igbankwe led side would have  their goalkeeper, Boje Abdullahi to thank for denying the Abuja based side their goal chances on several occasions.

ABS FC had earlier on Wednesday unveiled 30 players for the new season with the ultimate target of securing a promotion back to the NPFL- the elite league in Nigeria.
