Nigerian workers unite: NLC, TUC calls for nationwide protest, plans economy shutdown

In a significant move, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have called for a nationwide strike scheduled for next week, Tuesday, October 3, 2023.

This decision comes as a result of the federal government’s perceived failure to address key demands put forth by the labor unions.

The Presidents of both NLC and TUC, Joe Ajaero and Festus Osifo, made this announcement during a press conference held at Labour House following an emergency National Executive Council meeting.
