New Osun Gov, Adeleke warns NURTW officials against trouble, violence

The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke has warned transport union workers’ to stay away from causing trouble and violence in the state.

This was confirmed by the newly appointed spokesperson to the Governor, Olawale Rasheed, in a signed statement on Monday.

The Governor, who was inaugurated yesterday (Sunday) has ordered law enforcement and security agencies to ensure peace and tranquility across motor parks in the state.

The Informant247 learned that there had been reports of rifts and possible attacks between factions in the transport sector of the state.

It was gathered that a staff member of the Union (a pregnant woman) named Doyin, and one other staff of the Union were physically assaulted by another faction of the Union, who trying to over power in some motor parks using harmful weapons.

Report has it that Sunday Akinwale, the Union’s Financial Secretary sustained severe injury during the attack.

“All union leaders and their supporters are hereby directed to remain calm and bring any grievances to the State Government for resolution.

“Security agencies are consequently directly to maintain law and order,” the statement partly reads.
