New Ooni’s wife commissions 2 boreholes, 5,000 litres capacity tank in lfe

The new wife of the first class traditional king, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Queen Temitope Ogunwusi, has commissioned two boreholes for the benefits of market men and women at the major markets located in Ile-Ife.

Queen Ogunwusi, who’s the Deputy Convener of Hope Alive Initiative (HAI), commissioned the facilities at Oja-Tuntu, Odo-Ogbe Area, Friday in the ancient town of Ile-Ife.

The new of the respected traditional ruler who acknowledged the value of water in the society and community, thanked her husband for granting the opportunity for the manifestation of God’s purposeful will in her life.

She said God has programmed her to be of assistance to the downtrodden, reaffirming that her assignment is not restricted to water project alone, but also with the orphans.

“I think that we must commend the humanitarian heart of our father, the Ooni of Ife for making this to happen, for he’s a lover of all his subjects and indeed the Yoruba race, ” she stated.

The queen has implored the market people to make good use of the water and ensure proper maintenance of the boreholes.

The Queen said that she was of the strong belief that the boreholes would be assets to the businesses of all the market stakeholders.

The Father of the traditional monarch of lle-Ife, Prince Ropo Ogunwusi, earlier thanked his son, Oba Ogunwusi and the queen for providing portable water for the people.

Otun Babaloja of Odo-Ogbe, Chief Olaoluwa Odeyemi, while expressing himself on behalf of market men and women, appreciated Ooni and the queen for their show of compassion.

Odeyemi made a pledge that they would make use of the water for the good of all and sundry.

Among the eminent personalities that witnessed the event were the father of Ooni, Prince Ropo Ogunwusi, Agbolu of Agbaje-Ife, Oba Adekunle Adebowale, the Elerefe of Erefe, Oba Mayowa Fayemi.
