New NFF President to emerge at September 30 elective congress in Benin

The 2022 Elective Congress of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has been slated to hold on 30th September 2022 in the ancient city of Benin City, the Edo State capital.

This was gathered from the delayed 2021 Annual General Assembly (AGA) which held on Thursday August 18th 2022 at the Chateux De Atlantique Hotel, Lagos.

The new election date is a 10 days elongation as against September 20th originally fixed for the elections.

Expectedly, the elective congress will usher in new NFF executives as the tenure of the incumbent president Amaju Pinnick elapses on the same date having been elected for the second time on September 20th 2018 in Katsina.

Amaju Pinnick has served two tenures as the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) having been elected twice in 2014 and 2018.

The former Delta FA Boss has reportedly said he won’t be going for a third term.

There are strong indications that the new NFF President will emerge from the North considering the fact the outgoing President is from the South.
