Nearly 2,000 Liverpool fans to sue UEFA to court
Over 1,700 Liverpool supporters are set to sue UEFA for the treatment they received ahead of the 2021/2022 Champions League final in Paris.
UEFA had earlier cited ‘security issues’ as the match had to be delayed for 35 minutes before kick off with many Liverpool fans being reportedly subjected to a treatment which they now believe is not good of the trust in UEFA.
However, the Liverpool fans have also been blamed for the situation by French authorities.
Now ready to call the authority to account, UEFA now find themselves under pressure as those who were affected are preparing to sue European football’s governing body.
According to the BBC, law firm Binghams have teamed up with global law company Pogust Goodhead in a lawsuit for 1,450 clients alleging negligence of duty on the part of UEFA and breach of contract in ticket sales. Liverpool eventually lost the game 1-0.
