N’Central APC govs, leaders declare support for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027

In a significant display of unity, governors from the North Central zone elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC) have officially endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office during a meeting on Wednesday night in Abuja. The gathering, which was attended by key stakeholders including Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, concluded with a strong vote of confidence in Tinubu’s administration.

The communiqué released on Thursday detailed the presence of notable figures including Governors AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), Mohammed Umar Bago (Niger), Ahmed Usman Ododo (Kogi), and Hyacinth Iormem Alia (Benue), among others. It was signed by Governor Sule, who underscored the SGF’s call for the North Central to rally behind Tinubu’s 2027 campaign.

The leaders expressed their gratitude for Tinubu’s commitment to development within the region, highlighting ongoing projects in infrastructure, education, and agriculture that are transforming North Central into a center of opportunity.

“The President’s sincere commitment to equity and national development is evident,” the communiqué stated. “Having critically examined the current trajectory of national governance and recognizing the courage, foresight, and tenacity with which President Tinubu has steered the ship of state amidst daunting challenges, we unanimously pass a vote of confidence in his administration.”

In an overall show of support, they honored Tinubu for making inclusive appointments that enhance the representation of the region in federal positions. “As stakeholders of the APC in North Central, we reaffirm our collective commitment to strengthening the party’s grassroots structures and fostering unity among leaders,” the leaders declared.

Kwara Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq praised specific initiatives such as the national forest guard’s policy, which emphasizes local community involvement in national security and has garnered positive community feedback.

“We presented several requests to the President, including the establishment of the North Central Development Commission. Less than a year later, the commission has been established, with our sons and daughters appointed to lead it,” he noted, thanking Tinubu for the impactful policies that favor the North Central zone’s development and security.

The meeting underscored the North Central leaders’ commitment to back Tinubu’s vision, affirming their loyalty to the APC and their optimism about the future reforms aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s economic landscape.
