NASS postpones resumption of Plenary sessions to May 6
The National Assembly has announced a one-week postponement for the resumption of plenary sessions for both senators and members of the House of Representatives. The two Houses will now reconvene on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, instead of the previously scheduled date of April 29, 2025.
The Clerk of the National Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana, issued a notice regarding this change, stating that the extension aims to allow members to participate in the Workers’ Day ceremony and to attend to various engagements within their constituencies.
In the notice, Ogunlana communicated, “I am directed to inform distinguished senators, honourable members, and the general public that the two Houses of the National Assembly have extended the date for the resumption of plenary sessions from Tuesday, 29th April 2025, to Tuesday, 6th May 2025. This extension allows Distinguished Senators and Honourable Members to participate in the Workers’ Day ceremony and attend to other engagements in their constituencies.”
He further invited all concerned parties to take note of the new date and expressed apologies for any inconvenience this change may cause, while appreciating the understanding of the public.
