NAFDAC confiscates aphrodisiacs in Kaduna
On Monday, NAFDAC announced the seizure of several kinds of unlicensed aphrodisiacs in Kaduna.
An aphrodisiac is a chemical or medication that stimulates sexual arousal, induces desire, or improves sexual enjoyment or performance.
Mr Nasiru Mato, NAFDAC Coordinator in Kaduna State, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the seizures were the outcome of raids undertaken to clear the state of unregulated items.
Power Coffee, Honeymoon, Viga 150000, Zahidi Coffee, and Big Boss were among the goods confiscated, according to him.
“NAFDAC has repeatedly warned consumers about the inherent hazards of indiscriminate use of such items owing to their potential impact on health.”
“They have the potential to harm essential organs.” The medications cause the heart to work too hard, which can lead to hypertension and abrupt death.
‘The supposed ‘benefits’ are significantly less than the hazards associated with the ingestion of these drugs,’ he claims.
Mato suggested that sex stimulants be taken only with a doctor’s prescription.
