N300m fraud: Aisha Pategi dares Kwara govt to publish ‘LGs’ accounts’
A former Commisioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hajia Aisha Ahman Pategi, on Monday, challenged the Kwara state government to, in the spirit of accountability and transparency, publish how they utilise funds allocated to local governments in the state.
Pategi reacted to a statement credited to her successor at the Ministry Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Arc. Aliyu Mohammad Saifuddeen, saying that all Councils in the state are running their affairs without interference from any quarters.
Saifuddeen, while featuring on a live programme tagged “GOOD MORNING KWARANS” at the Kwara Television Service during the weekend, said that since the inception of the present administration in the State, no single kobo of the Local Government’s money was missing or diverted by anyone.
However, responding to this on the micro-bloging site, Twitter, Aisha Pategi said, “Absolutely not true… publish all LGA accounts from may (sic) 2019 to date. #freekwaraLGAmoney.”

Recall that Pategi had in August resigned from the cabinet of AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq following the alleged irreconcilable crisis over the diversion of N300M local government funds.
