My administration is committed to ending all forms of banditry — Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that his administration will decisively defeat all forms of banditry across Nigeria, reaffirming his commitment to restoring security and enabling farmers to return safely to their fields.

Tinubu made the statement while attending the grand finale of the Argungu International Fishing Festival in Kebbi State, where he also commended the state government for its developmental strides.

The President praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, for his execution of projects and for naming the ultramodern state secretariat, describing him as a team leader whose efforts have boosted tourism in the state.

He also lauded the Emir of Argungu and the Sultan of Sokoto for honouring the event with their presence, describing the festival as a remarkable cultural heritage.

“Very good show and remarkable history; the fishing festival has endured for many years. It represents our culture,” Tinubu said.

Reiterating his administration’s stance on insecurity, the President assured Nigerians that the fight against banditry would be won.

“We will win the war against any form of banditry in the country; farmers will return to their farms across the country,” he declared.

Tinubu further pledged federal support to Kebbi State in achieving food sufficiency through massive investment in agriculture. He also restated his commitment to promoting renewable energy as part of efforts to improve electricity generation in the state.

In his welcome address, Governor Idris thanked the President for visiting Kebbi State and for his continued support toward the state’s development.
