Man Utd to face Barcelona in Europa League play off
Manchester United will clash with Barcelona in their Europa League knockout round play-off.
The Red Devils’ second-placed finish in Group E due to goal difference see them being locked against the Catalan giants, who also dropped down to Europa league after a no too impressive performance in the Champions League.
Barcelona dropped to the Europa for the second season consecutively and will be hoping to redeem their image in the face of their last season’s infamous loss to Frankfurt in the quarter final. The latter would eventually go on to win the trophy after beating Rangers 5-4 on penalties.
While another game in the round will have Juventus rolling out its aces in an effort to overcome Nantes, Ajax will also face a tricky test against Union Berlin.
That Sporting and Shakhtar Donetsk will face Midtjylland and Rennes respectively, Jose Mourinho’s Roma and Salzburg will lock horns for the round of 16 berth.
Meanwhile, Sevilla, who have won most of the Europa league title, Six, will have a date with PSV Eindhoven with Leverkusen also pitted against Monaco.
