Man kills wife after mistaking her for an intruder

A man, Nuhu Umar Usman, has taken the life of his second wife, Ladi Nuhu Dangarfa at night at Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The 40 year old man killed his wife after mistaking her for another person ( an intruder).

The incident was confirmed by the Bauchi State Police spokesperson, Ahmed Wakil, in a statement released on Friday, January 6, 2023.

The incident came following an irreconcilable difference between the 2 wives of Usman.

The son of the senior wife has issued threat to his father, and so the father has decided to sleep with dane gun kept beside his bed.

The father on noticing a suspicious move close to his bed, decided to shoot the gun.

The person he shot later turned out to be his wife.

The statement revealed that the suspect has been apprehended and would be dragged to court after completing investigations.

The statement read: “There was an altercation between the wives, to the extent that the eldest son holds grudges against the father and threatened to harm him. This made the suspect load his Dane gun and kept it beside him throughout the night waiting for an intruder, possibly his eldest son.

“On December 28, 2022, Usman slept in the same room with his second wife but was not aware when she stepped out of the room at 2 am to urinate. While returning to her bed, the husband woke up and reached for his gun on hearing suspicious movement close to his bed. The shot he fired hit his wife who fell down, unconsciously. She was rushed to the General Hospital Burra but certified Dead-on-Arrival by the doctor.”
