Man appears in court for allegedly stabbing another with broken bottle in Ogun
Dada Adekunle, a 31-year-old man, on Friday appeared before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun, for reportedly stabbing another person with broken bottle on his right hand.
Adekunle, who address of residence was not disclosed was charged by the police with assault.
Insp E. O. Adaraloye, who’s the Prosecution Counsel, informed the court that the defendant carried out the offence on Oct.15, at about 9 p.m at Abule Aparadija, via Cele Bus-Stop, Ayetoro, Ota.
The Prosecution Counsel also informed the court that Adekunle stabbed one Adejumo Ezekiel, during the incident.
He added that the offence was in contravention of the provisions of Section 335 of the Criminal Code, Law of Ogun,2006.
The defendant has, however pleaded not guilty to the offence of which he has been charged.
Mrs A.O. Adeyemi, who’s the Magistrate, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 plus two sureties in like sum.
The magistrate directed that the sureties must live within the jurisdiction of the court and must be gainfully employed with an evidence to show payment of tax to Ogun Government.
She has adjourned the matter until Nov. 10 for further hearing.
