Mama Taraba Decamps to PDP
A former Minister of Women Affairs, Jummai Alhassan aka Mama Taraba, has decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the United Democratic Party (UDP).
Racall that the erstwhile minister who served under president Muhammadu Buhari in his first tenure, had on September 29, 2018, her resignation letter to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Senator Aisha Jummai alhassan, upon resignation from president Buhari’s cabinet consequently joined the United Democratic Party (UDP), taking along with her all loyalists in the state.
The astute politician, who vied for the 2019 Taraba governorship election on the platform of the UDP, had an impressive political foray after she emerged as runner up behind the incumbent governor, Mr. Darius Ishaku of the PDP.
While announcing her defection to the PDP after a stakeholders confab today in Jalingo, she said her decision was influenced by the majority decision of the UDP bigwigs.
Present at the venue were representatives of UDP members which cut across 168 wards in all the 16 local government areas of the state.
