Liverpool reaches Champions League final after 5-2 aggregate win over Villarreal
Liverpool has taken advantage of Villarreal’s second half weakness to win 3-2 on the night and 5-2 on aggregate.
Villarreal had fantastically had two first half goals – an early lead which kept the tie at 2-2 on aggregate at the break.
But Fabinho’s strike and Luis Diaz heading in after being kept completely unmarked changed the narrative of the game.
The dynamism of the game later ended in favour of Liverpool who are now waiting for the winner between Real Madrid and Manchester City in the second semi final game.
Sadio Mane however slot in the third goal to complete the comeback.
