Lavatory project: Kwara govt moves to end open defecation

In a move to put a total end to open defecation, the Kwara state commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Usman Yunusa Lade, has inspected the ongoing public lavatory projects at Eruda, Balogun Alanamu, and Abata Asunkere communities all in the Ilorin metropolis.

The Commissioner, during the spot assessment on Thursday, expressed confidence in the work done while urging the contractor to speed up the pace of work on the projects.

He emphasised that the construction of the ongoing projects indicates the state government’s efforts and commitment to eradicating open defecation in the Ilorin metropolis and the state in general.

Speaking on behalf of the contractor handling the projects, Afric AMZ International Limited, Mr Adeleke Sheyi promised to deliver quality and standard jobs, adding that they would do everything possible to fix the defects and provide the projects on schedule.
