KWSG Urges Principals and Teachers to Enhance Productivity
The Kwara State Government has reiterated its call for principals and teachers across the state to avoid complacency and enhance productivity in their duties.
Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu, gave this directive during her visit to select schools in Ilorin.
The purpose of the visit was to monitor students writing Biology Practical for the National Examinations Council (NECO) and Mathematics for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
During the visit, Hajia Modibbo Kawu emphasized the importance of principals and teachers avoiding actions that could negatively impact learning outcomes.
She stated, “Principals and teachers must be steadfast and committed to their legitimate duties to reciprocate the kind gestures of the current administration.”
She assured them of the State government’s support in creating a conducive working environment to achieve the government’s goal of revitalizing the education sector.
Hajia Modibbo Kawu also addressed students taking the Senior School Certificate Examination (Internal) and BECE, urging them to avoid behaviors that could jeopardize their future careers. She emphasized the importance of diligence and focus during the examination period.
Mr. Olaoye Benedict, Principal of Mount Carmel College, Oloje, Ilorin, praised the efforts of the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq administration in transforming the education sector in Kwara State.
He called on the State government to renovate the dilapidated buildings in the school to prevent overcrowding in classrooms and complete the perimeter fence to ensure students remain on school premises during school hours.
The schools visited during the tour included Mount Carmel College, Oloje, Ilorin, and Ansarul Islam Secondary School, Ogidi, Ilorin.
