KWSG distributes 94% of fertilizer across 16 LGAs

The Kwara State Government has successfully distributed 94% of the assorted fertilizer it received to farmers across the state’s 16 local government areas (LGAs), according to a recent report.

The Report stated that, the distribution, aimed at boosting agricultural productivity, was monitored by a team of professionals from the National Cereals Research Institute, Bacita, Kwara State, as part of their community service. The team revealed that 44% of the fertilizer was distributed across 11 LGAs, including Asa, Baruten, Kaiama, Moro, Ifelodun, Irepodun, Offa, Oke-ero, Isin, and Oyun.

According to the report, it indicated that farmers in Edu, Ilorin West, Patigi, Ekiti, and Ilorin East LGAs have already collected their consignments and begun distributing them to eligible farmers.

The fertilizer, provided by the Central Bank of Nigeria through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, is being distributed under the supervision of Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, the Senior Special Assistant on Community Development to the Kwara State Governor.

Dr. Olohungbebe praised the community-led approach, noting that the exercise would be completed in a few days.

“This ensures farmers across the state have access to this critical input,” he added
