KWSG advises commuters on new routes amid major roadworks

The Kwara State Ministry of Works and Transport has announced alternative routes to ease traffic congestion as construction works commence on the Post Office-Emir’s Road-Isale Oja Road. This project, part of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s urban renewal initiatives, has received prior approval from the state cabinet.

In a statement released by the Hon. Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo, commuters are advised to use alternative routes including Taiwo Isale, Edun, Obo Road, Niger Road, Opomalu, Centre Igboro, Balogun Fulani, and Bolanta Roads to navigate through Ilorin metropolis during the construction period.

“To ensure the smooth commencement of re-construction on these roads, we also advise residents to remove all vehicles on both sides of the construction routes,” Olododo stated.

Acknowledging the potential inconvenience to commuters and residents, Olododo emphasized the government’s commitment to building resilient infrastructure.

“We seek cooperation and patience as the government builds a resilient infrastructure and lasting legacy for our beloved State. We appreciate His Excellency for committing to building safer, smoother, and more beautiful roads that will grow our state’s economy.” he said
