Kwara sets up committee to review contract document

A six-member ministerial committee has been set up by the Kwara State government to review the site handover document and project completion certificate, currently being used in the state for efficient service delivery.

The General Manager of the State Public Procurement Agency (KW-PPA), QS Raheem Abdulbaki, while inaugurating the body on behalf of the government on Tuesday, said the review of the contract documents is aimed at achieving uniformity, standard, and guarantee computation of actual contract durations for public contracts in the State.

The General Manager, while giving a week ultimatum to submit the report, charged the members to work diligently to justify their pick.

QS Abdulbaki, however, charged all civil servants, especially the professionals, to imbibe best practices, noting that posterity will not forget every step they took while in active service.

Secretary of the Agency, Mallam Muazu Shaaba, appreciated all the committee members from the professional MDAs for their readiness to serve in that capacity and prayed for their successful engagements and delivery of the task ahead.

Members of the Committee are  
the Director, Water Engineering Services, Ministry of Water Resources, Engr. Yusuf Wopa;  Acting Director of Electrical Engineering, Ministry of Energy, Engr. Fisayo Dada; Sulaiman AbdulRasaq (Ministry of  Education); Mr. Kolade Funsho Olushola (Ministry of Housing and Urban Devt.); Engr. Aduagba Abdulhameed (Ministry of Works and Transport); and Engr. Sulyman Yusuf, from the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).

Responding, Chairman of the committee, Engr. Wopa, in his remarks, thanked the State government for finding them worthy for the job and hailed QS Abdulbaki for his insightful ideas that he said would assist the committee in the course of the assignment.
