Kwara releases 2024 BECE results

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development on Thursday announced the release of the results of the successful candidates, who sat for the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) across the State.

This was contained in a statement released by Peter Amogbonjaye, the Press Secretary,
Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development as disclosed by the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Ilorin.

Receiving the results from the Director, Curriculum and Assessment Department, Mrs. Victoria Funmilayo Adewuyi, the Commissioner expressed satisfaction on the outcome of the examination and applauded the Examinations Department of the Ministry for a job well done.

Hajia Modibbo Kawu also commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for subsidizing the 2024 BECE, describing it as a benevolent act that received commendations from parents, saying his vision to revamp the education sector has greatly improved this sector since the inception of the present administration from 2019 to date.

She explained further that 56,486 candidates were enrolled for the 2024 Kwara Basic Education Certificate Examinations, with 29,255 (51.79%) candidates representing males and 27, 232 (48.21%) candidates representing females, pointing out that there has been a 23.44% increase in enrolment between 2019 and 2024.

Hajia Modibbo Kawu called on all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools, parents and guardians across the State to come to the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, starting from Friday, 13th September, 2024, for the collection of the scratch cards to access the results of their students and wards, warning the School Heads to desist from collecting illegal money from students.

“Scratch cards for checking results are free-of-charge and the results are not to be paid for by parents. Please, do not extort money from the students”, the Commissioner stated.

In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Rebecca Bake Olanrewaju, who expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the examination, appreciated the efforts of the Curriculum and Assessment Department of the Ministry for its commitment to ensuring the success of this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examinations.
