Kwara govt reopen MTN annex hours after closure
The Kwara State Government has reopened the ISon BPO’s call centre, an MTN partnering company, earlier shut by the deputy governor for allegedly defying governmnet’s lockdown order by opening office
THE INFORMANT247 reports that the deputy governor, accompanied by security officials, had stormed the ISon BPO office in Ilorin to disperse about 100 working staff of the company.
However, in an internal memo sent to workers and obtained by THE INFORMANT247, the management said the state government has agreed that the company should be opened.
The statement reads in part, “Be notified that Kwara State has given management the permission to continue operation due to the peculiarity of communication.
“ISONBPO is an essential service provider hence the need we can’t shutdown outrighly but the need to ensure all necessary precautionary measures as highlighted by WHO/Federal Ministry of Health is of necessity.
“Union will ensure close monitoring going forward and any compromise will not be encouraged at all. We all need to work together in ensuring same as well.
“As a result, night shift will be resuming beginning from tonight as we are working out the modality of schedule from tomorrow at the moment.”
