Kwara govt flags off drug test campaign for newly admitted varsity students Friday
The Kwara State Government, through the Ministry of Tertiary Education, has said it will, on Friday, December 20, 2024, flag off a drug test programme designed for all newly admitted students at the Kwara State University Malete.
Dr Mary Arinde, the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, while featuring in a radio programme tagged: “e bawa da si” at Diamond 88.7 Fm, along Yidi Road, Ilorin, said the programme was aimed at discouraging the menace of drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking among students.

Highlighting the benefits of the just established Kwara State University (KWASU) satellite campuses in Osi and Ilesha-Baruba, the Commissioner said that the state government is more focused on providing quality education to citizens in a very conducive environment, adding that the government is also determined to improve educational structures in the State.
According to her, governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led has committed lots of resources to the KWASU satellite campuses to improve the education sector in the state
Dr Mary, while commenting on the newly established Kwara State University of Education (KWASUED), said the university is mainly to produce qualified graduates in education only.
