Kwara Govt announces partial closure of road for upgrades
The Kwara State Government has announced a partial closure of the Post Office to Challenge axis of the Muritala Mohammed Way starting Sunday, June 15, 2025. This decision is part of ongoing road upgrades to enhance the area’s infrastructure.
According to a statement by Olajide Abolarin, the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Works, Hon. Commissioner for Works, Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo emphasized that while the road will remain accessible, traffic diversions will be implemented.
The statement also urged the motorists to anticipate delays and drive cautiously, adhering to the directions of traffic officials.
Engr. Olododo stated, “We regret any inconvenience this may cause and thank the public for their understanding. This project is vital to boosting the road’s economic utility and enhancing connectivity, in line with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s urban renewal vision. We’re committed to completing it swiftly and efficiently.”
The government reassures the public that disruptions will be kept to a minimum, with safety remaining a top priority. Motorists are encouraged to follow traffic instructions and plan their routes accordingly.
