Kwara govt advocates clean environment
The Kwara State Government has reiterated the need for residents of the state to maintain a clean environment to curb the spread of any disease.
The Commissioner for Environment, Mrs. Julianah Funke Oyedun stated this on Monday during general monitoring and supervision of the trimming, weeding, and evacuation of debris within the Ilorin metropolis.
Oyedun further enjoined Kwarans to ensure a better and cleaner environment to be free from any health hazard, advising the people to avoid indiscriminate dumping of refuse in their respective houses and business environment.
She stated, “The environment is better than before, if you move around, you will see that our environment is cleaner than before with no debris, things are getting better every day.
“Let us continue with the good work by keeping our surroundings clean, it is for our good. Let’s avoid dumping refuse anywhere, it is prohibited, get waste bins in your houses and shops where the waste will be dropped and when filled up, take them to the road bins where it will be taken to the dumpsite.”
She lauded the state government’s giant strides in tackling environmental issues and for releasing funds for the state projects to be achieved.
