Kwara gov distributes relief materials to victims of Ipata fire incident
The Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, while commiserating with the victims of the fire incident at Alh. Haruna Kannike Shopping Complex in Ipata, Ilorin, sent relief materials to the victims.
The Informant247 reports a two-storey building housing 25 shops and 44 rooms on Saturday was gutted by fire at Alhaji Haruna Kannike Shopping Complex, Ipata Market, Ilorin, Kwara State.
In a statement by Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, the Head of Media and Publicity, Kwara State Fire Service, the Service, while responding to a distress call reporting a fire outbreak, said upon arrival of firefighters, the fire had already engulfed some rooms on the upper floor where 22 rooms were affected, and 22 others and all 25 shops were contained.

Led by Alhaji Abdul-Razhaq Abubakar Jiddah, the Special Adviser on Special Duties to the governor, the relief materials delivered include foam mattresses, bags of cement, blankets, foodstuff, etc.
Present at the handing over of the relief materials on Monday were staff of Kwara State Emergency Agency, including its secretary, Mashood Magaji, the chairmen of Ilorin East and Ilorin South local governments, Hon. Lukman Olayinka Garba and Hon. Majeed Podo, respectively.
Hon. Jiddah, while commiserating with the victims, said Governor Abdulrazaq prioritises Kwarans’ welfare and would do everything possible to prevent future recurrence of the fire disaster he described as very unfortunate.
