Kwara Gov AbdulRazaq mourns passing of ex-Kwara deputy speaker CT Ayeni
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has commiserated with the family, friends, and associates of former Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt—Hon—Christopher Ayeni, who died in a road accident earlier today, October 31, 2024.
The Informant247 had earlier reported how an APC stalwart and the former deputy speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Christopher Tunji Ayeni, fondly called CT Ayeni, lost his life in a fatal road accident along Ajase-Ipo road in the Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State when the deceased was travelling to Ilorin.
According to reports, CT Ayeni was reportedly driving a Hilux vehicle with an unidentified passenger when the tragic incident happened.
However, in a statement by Rafiu Ajakaye, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Governor Abdulrazaq, while describing the development as devastating, commiserated with the people of Isapa in Ekiti Local Government Area of the state on the incident, praying to Almighty God to rest the soul of the former lawmaker and give his loved ones the strength to bear the colossal loss.
Prior to his death, Ayeni was a prominent figure in Kwara politics. He was the 2023 House of Representatives candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and recently decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He held the traditional title of Akogun of Isapa Land in Ekiti Local Government Area of the state.
